Massage Types & Prices:

Swedish Massage (Relaxation):

Swedish Massage is the most common and best known type of massage. It involves long, fluid strokes of muscles and tissues with pressure that varies from light to medium to firm. This type of massage is considered to be one of the most relaxing styles and is meant to put your mind and body into a relaxed state. Your massage therapists will adjust the pressure according to your sensitivity and preference.

60 Minute- $65                  90 Minute: $95.00

Therapeutic Massage:

Therapeutic Massage uses techniques to facilitate neuromuscular changes within specific areas of the body. Examples of this would include: Gaining range of motion in a frozen shoulder, decreasing hip pain, combating migraines/headaches caused by neck tension, etc. Trigger Point Massage is often included during Therapeutic Massage.

60 Minute- $65                  90 Minute: $95.00

Trigger Point Massage:

Trigger points are sore, painful spots that occur in a muscle. Most people refer to trigger points as knots. They are called trigger points because they "trigger" a painful response that often refers pain to different parts of your body. Trigger Point Massage uses concentrations of finger pressure on each trigger point to prevent cycles of muscle pain and spasms. Trigger Point Massage provides benefits after just one session.

15 Minute- $20

**Trigger Point Therapy is often included during a Therapeutic Massage but may be requested as a spot therapy. Availability is based upon schedule of Massage Therapist. Call for more details.

Deep Tissue Massage:

Deep Tissue Massage is a deeper more intense massage, but does not mean pain, like many are lead to believe. This technique uses slow, deep guided strokes and firm pressure designed to relieve severe tension and reach below the superficial muscles. These deeper layers can be the culprit to decreased range of motion and nerve compression. Deep Tissue Massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain and soreness in both large and small muscle groups.

60 Minute- $65                  90 Minute: $95.00

Sports Massage:

A no-nonsense massage that aims to stretch tight muscles, stimulate inactive muscles and improve soft tissue condition. Sports Massage can enable you to move your body more freely with more flexibility and in time can improve your posture. As the name suggests it is popular with athletes, as it enhances performance, assists recovery and prevents injury. These are benefits we can all enjoy. Sports Massage typically includes stretching, scar tissue releases, and combining Deep Tissue and Therapeutic Massage.

60 Minute- $65                  90 Minute: $95.00

Pre-Natal Massage:

Prenatal Massage is a nurturing massage that focuses on the special needs of mothers-to-be during pregnancy. Positioning, pillows and cushions are used to enhance support, decrease pressure and increase relaxation for both body and mind. Mother and baby share in the benefits as stress and tension melt away, leaving you feeling balanced and energized. Relief of stress on feet, ankles, low back and neck, as well as reducing swelling, are all benefits of a Prenatal Massage. At Senechal Family Chiropractic, prenatal massage is only performed after the first trimester. It is advised that you consult with your doctor to see if prenatal massage is right for you. Additional restrictions may apply.

60 Minute- $65.00                  90 Minute: $95.00

Infant/Child Massage:

Infant massage refers to massage therapy as specifically applied to infants. Massage Therapists caring for infants have used massage techniques on infants born prematurely, on those with motor or gastrointestinal problems and as a means of relaxation. Both premature infants and full-term babies need the relaxation that comes from massaging and moving their limbs and muscles. In infants with colic, massage provides the relief necessary to disperse gas, ease muscle spasm, tone the digestive system and help it work efficiently. Some techniques even help bring relief from teething and emotional stress. The stimulation an infant receives from massage can aid circulation, strengthen muscles, help digestion, and relieve constipation.

30 Minute- $35.00

Sinus Point Release:

Sinus pressure is an uncomfortable problem that can result in a stuffy sensation in the nose, pain across the face and headaches. Pressure occurs when the open sinus passages become inflamed and swell, blocking the natural flow of air and mucus. Mucus becomes trapped, which results in built up pressure in the sinuses. There are many causes of sinus swelling and pressure, including allergies, infections, flu and colds. A Sinus Point Release session involves the Massage Therapist using nurturing, gentle strokes that relax the muscles of the face, neck, and shoulders while working pressure points to provide drainage and relief from sinuses.

10 Minute- $15.00

**Sinus Point Release is generally used as an add-on to a Massage and must be requested at the time the appointment is made.

Common Massage Misconceptions:

Massages hurt- Massages should NOT hurt. There can be times during very specific types of massage (examples: Scar tissue release, deep connective tissue release, and increasing range of motion in an immobile joint) when massage can become tender to the touch, (similar to a bruise) or can become uncomfortable but should never be very painful (at most 6 out of 10 on your pain scale) and should only be temporary.

Massages are a luxury- Massages should be a part of your regular health regimen just as exercising, proper nutrition, and chiropractic care are. It helps to keep your muscles in working order, and your immune system strong both are vital in living a healthy lifestyle.

I have sensitive skin so I can’t get a massage- I too have very sensitive skin so I use all hypo-allergenic oils and lotions. If you are still unsure we have other options such as using corn starch, baby powder, or none at all and perform the massage right through your clothing.
